2007 International Competition & Assessment for Schools - Mathematics Earlier this year, 57 East Ayr students sat for the International Mathematics Competition run by the University of NSW. The competition assessed numbers, arithmetic, algebra, measurement, space, geometry, chance and data. East Ayr students performed well in this competition with four students receiving Distinctions and 17 students receiving Credits. Below are the students who received these awards; they were presented with their certificates on parade yesterday.
Congratulations to these students. Australian Maths Competition During Term 3, 21 Year 7 students participated in the annual Australian Maths Competition. Our students performed quite well in this competition with one student receiving a High Distinction, two students receiving Distinctions and 11 students receiving Credits. Congratulations to all students on their achievements. Jack Vacher’s High Distinction saw him in the top 2% of the students who competed in this competition. Well done Jack. English Competition Results Early last term 39 students from Years 5, 6 and 7 participated in the International English Competition. Areas assessed in this competition were Reading, Grammar and Vocabulary. Eleven of our students received awards in this competition. We received one High Distinction and 10 Credits.
