Special Education Program (SEP) |
Miriam Crouther is East Ayr’s Special Education Program Co-ordinator (Inclusion Teacher) and works at the school from Monday to Thursday each week
East Ayr students who have been diagnosed with the specific disabilities listed below, have direct access to this program of support.
Students in the Special Education Program also have extra Teacher Aide time for individual, group or classroom support.
They have an Individual Education Plan (IEP), which outlines individual learning goals and effective teaching strategies. Miriam will work with the Classroom Teacher and parents to develop and update the IEPs.
Students in the Special Education Program learn alongside their peers in the classroom.
One of Miriam’s roles is to support and assist Classroom Teachers in making adjustments for individual students so that they can maximise their participation in classroom activities and learning.
