East Ayr has entered the annual Top of the Class competition being run at the Willows Shopping Centre in Townsville. This competition is a quiz style competition where the team has to answer questions on Maths, English, Science, Current Events, Entertainment and General Knowledge.

Our team was in action on Thursday 12 May where they were up against Wulguru.  In a close encounter we went down 19 – 17. Our next session took place on Saturday 21 May when we took on St Joseph’s Mundingburra.   Next week we take on Kirwan State School.  This will end the first round.

Our Top of the Class team has bowed out of this year’s competition. Our team of Matthew Wight, Georgie Kiloh, Jarred Langford and Liam Shannon are to be congratulated for their efforts over the three rounds. We had three narrow defeats at the hands of Wulguru, St Joseph’s Mundingburra and Kirwan. Thank you also to the parents who transported and supported the team over the past 2 weeks. Thanks also to Matt Williams for looking after our team this year. We will be involved again in 2010.
